Accreditation

When shopping for a TEFL certification course, it’s important to make sure it’s internationally accredited. After all, the point is to teach English abroad, right? Our courses are inspected each year for international compliance and code of conduct through various accrediting bodies, as explained below.

Latin America, U.S. and Online TEFL Certification Courses

The Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Chicago and Online courses use a state-of-the-art curriculum written by a staff of highly experienced professors for International TEFL Academy. ITA is one of the global leaders in TEFL/TESOL curriculum, and trains over 3,000 students a year. The curriculum also surpasses internationally recognized requirements of a minimum of 100 hours of academic work and 6 hours of practicum (student teaching/observation) for a professional level TEFL certification.

To ensure that our TEFL certification meets international standards in quality and deliverance, this curriculum has been externally monitored and approved for accreditation by TQUK, an officially recognized Awarding Organization that is recognized and regulated by Ofqual, the British Government body responsible for monitoring and maintaining educational standards in the United Kingdom.

* The British system (Ofqual) uses the term “regulated” which is synonymous with the TEFL industry term “accredited”.  These certifications are also on the QCF platform.  The other term used is “approved” which is a lower level of oversight but is not what would be considered “accredited”. These certificates are not on the QCF platform.

Thailand TEFL Certification Courses

The Chiang Mai and Krabi course curriculum was developed in collaboration with the London Teacher Training College (LTTC) and Entrust TEFL, and both are monitored and regulated by a board of independent advisers who ensure both a consistent standard and improved, cutting-edge approach to learning. The curriculum surpasses internationally recognized requirements of a minimum of 100 hours of academic work and 6 hours of practicum (student teaching/observation) for a professional level TEFL certification.

To ensure that our TEFL certification meets international standards in quality and deliverance, this curriculum has been externally monitored and approved for accreditation by International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Langauge (IATEFL), and it complies with the requirements of the International Accreditation of TESOL Qualifying Organizations (IATQuO) because of the alliance with LTTC.
